How to Make Handmade Soap Last Longer

Keep it away from standing water

Store the bar outside the direct stream of the shower and do not leave it sitting in pooled water.

Let it dry between uses

Use a well-draining soap dish or rack that allows air to circulate around the bar.

Use one bar at a time

Keep unused soap in a cool, dry place until needed. Cutting a large bar into smaller pieces can also help keep the unused portion dry.

Use a washcloth or soap pouch

A washcloth or draining soap pouch can help create lather while using less of the bar.

Avoid very hot water

Hot water dissolves soap more quickly. Warm or cooler water may help the bar last longer.

For best results, allow your Alpine Apothecary soap to dry fully between uses.
