About

Alpine Apothecary is a modern Australian apothecary based in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, where herbs are grown, harvested, dried, infused and transformed into small-batch products made in-house.

From calendula flowers drying in the workshop to elderflower steeping into botanical infusions, many products begin as plants grown right here on our property at altitude in the Australian Alps.

Founded by Jacinta Muras, Alpine Apothecary grew from years of hands-on making, herbal study and practical formulation experience. What began as small batches for family and friends evolved into a full workshop producing botanical skincare, soaps, candles, herbal teas, balms, bath products, shampoo bars, incense and home fragrance products.

Every product is developed and made in-house using carefully selected ingredients, real botanical infusions and small-batch production methods designed for function, stability and everyday use.

Every formula is shaped through ongoing study, testing, refinement and real-world production experience. Over the years, this work has included extensive hands-on learning in:

  • Cosmetic and skincare formulation
  • Soapmaking and surfactant systems
  • Herbal preparations and traditional apothecary methods
  • Essential oil blending and safety
  • Preservatives, stability and cosmetic microbiology
  • Botanical extraction and infusion methods
  • Incense making and natural aromatic materials

More than anything, Alpine Apothecary is built on practical experience.

Products are tested in real climates, real homes and real daily life, from harsh alpine winters to dry summers. Formulas are adjusted, refined and improved through making, not mass production.

This is not trend-based skincare. It is not factory-made white-label products, and it is not built around exaggerated claims.

It is a workshop-led business focused on ingredients, process and thoughtful formulation.

Everything is made in small batches in the Snowy Mountains, shaped by altitude, season, climate and a respect for traditional craft adapted for modern life.

Crafted at 1200 metres in the Australian Alps.
