Soft baked apples beneath a crisp oat topping seasoned with Alpine Chai.
Important: This recipe was created specifically for Alpine Apothecary Alpine Chai Herbal Tea. Do not substitute another tea blend. Most alternatives contain black tea and a different balance of spices, which will alter the flavour, texture and caffeine content.

Ingredients
- 1.2 kg apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 60 g brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Alpine Apothecary Alpine Chai Herbal Tea, ground to a fine powder
- For the crumble: 180 g plain flour
- For the crumble: 100 g rolled oats
- For the crumble: 120 g brown sugar
- For the crumble: 150 g cold unsalted butter, cubed
- Pinch of salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C fan-forced. Lightly grease a 2 litre baking dish.
- Toss the apples with the brown sugar, lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of the finely ground Alpine Apothecary Alpine Chai Herbal Tea. Spread in the dish.
- Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt and remaining finely ground Alpine Apothecary Alpine Chai Herbal Tea.
- Rub in the butter until coarse crumbs form, then scatter evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
