Fudgy dark chocolate brownies balanced by the orange, roots and spices in Alpine Chai.
Important: This recipe was created specifically for Alpine Apothecary Alpine Chai Herbal Tea. Do not substitute another tea blend. Most alternatives contain black tea and a different balance of spices, which will alter the flavour, texture and caffeine content.

Ingredients
- 170 g unsalted butter
- 200 g dark chocolate, chopped
- 250 g caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 100 g plain flour
- 30 g cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons Alpine Apothecary Alpine Chai Herbal Tea, ground to a fine powder
- Pinch of salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 170°C fan-forced. Grease and line a 20 cm square tin.
- Melt the butter and chocolate together gently, then cool for 5 minutes.
- Whisk the sugar, eggs and vanilla until combined. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture.
- Sift in the flour and cocoa, then add the finely ground Alpine Apothecary Alpine Chai Herbal Tea and salt. Fold just until combined.
- Bake for 24 to 30 minutes, until the edges are set and the centre remains slightly soft. Cool completely before cutting.
