Marshmallow Root, Calendula and Chamomile Bath Tea - Alpine Apothecary

Recipe illustration.

A botanical bath sachet with root, oatstraw, calendula and chamomile.

Ingredients

  • 120 ml cut marshmallow root
  • 120 ml oatstraw powder
  • 30 ml calendula petals
  • 30 ml chamomile flowers
  • One large, tightly woven muslin bag

Spoon measures: teaspoon = 5 ml; tablespoon = 15 ml. Australian 20 ml tablespoons need adjustment.

Method

  1. Put the botanicals in the bag and fasten securely.
  2. Immerse in a comfortably warm bath. Gently squeeze the bag as it steeps.
  3. Remove the sachet afterwards. Discard the wet herbs and wash the bag.

Good to know

External use only. Oatstraw is required; it is not rolled oats. Patch test first and avoid use if allergic to any ingredient. Avoid broken skin. Take care on slippery surfaces. Prepare for one bath and discard leftovers. Source-based adaptation; not tested in-house.
